Photoshoot in the Forest

I was up bright and early today with good reason, I was going to join my good friend Yen in the forest on one of her photoshoots. This was a first for me, i’ve never been on a photoshoot or actually seen Yen on the job, she is a super awesome make up artist.

Felt really nice to wake up early, was out of bed and ready to start the day by 8am so had breakfast in the garden to take advantage of the heat and clear blue skies. Trying to eat healthy, I had a yoghurt and fruit smoothie. I had some time to kill before I had to go meet Yen at the local station so I did a tiny bit of work then set off on my way.

We met up in Tesco’s to get food for the picnic, did a bit of shopping, plenty of water and heathy Luke threw in two boxes of grapes. With all the shopping done we set off to the station nearest to the forest to wait for the model, photographer and stylists to turn up, we were all due at 12.. Me and Yen were early, the model turned up a bit later so Yen got to work on the make up at the bus station!

A bit later the rest of the gang turned up and we treked into the forest to find a nice space to start shooting. We found a nice area deep in the forest along the foot path. I was given the duty of carrying and holding things, namely the shopping, heavy bags and the light reflector. I had never held one before but it was easy enough, reflect sunlight off a big circle onto the model. It was easy to do but quite tiring in the heat, found it tricky to do this while walking along side the model, she walked fast!

After the first shoot was all done and a quick costume change for the model, we headed into the big open feild. It was nice and breezy out here but the sun was still strong, Hayfever also started an ass kicking that lasted all day and is still attacking me now. The second shoot was a lot nicer, out in the open and in a cool breeze. It took a lot longer but I didn’t mind, for the second half of it the light wasn’t needed so I used it as a sort of tent / cover and got some rest. After that shoot was done Yen got to work painting the model’s face and we were ready for the final shoot!

The final shoot was quite short as the photographer was running out of space on his camera cards, quite thankful because the sun was strong and we were all getting tired and I was getting hungry. After we were all done we walked back to the station, getting ice cold water and an ice pole for me. We took the train into central with the photographer and model getting off before me and Yen as we were heading to… NANDO’S!

As most people reading this (my friends) will already know, I’m a Nando’s freak, there’s not much to say about it really. We went to the Nando’s at Liverpool Street, very close to the station, I’ve never been there before and think it’s quite new. When we got there, it was quite empty, service was good but they had no Red Pepper Dip!! Me and Yen both got Extra Hot Half Chicken because we’re awesome. Full of Nando’s we made our way back home and ended our super awesome fun photoshoot day!

I had a lot of fun despite just standing around holding things, everyone involved was very friendly and I think I ate like a tree or field worth of grapes because i’m obviously super healthy now, let’s just ignore Nando’s because chicken never made anyone fat..

Nearly 2am so time for bed, sticking to my new routine. Have to be up early for my driving lesson at 8.30 in preperation for my test later this week!
